In continuation to where the previous movie left off, the 5 friends head back to East Great Falls for the summer and plan to head to the lake for the rest of the summer. Jim (Biggs), Kevin (Nicholas), Finch (Thomas), Oz (Owen) and Stiffler (Scott) crash at a massive rented house by the lake. Bringing Stiffler along was a decision they had to make with their heads rather than their heart in order to divide the costs more. What ensues is massive partying, a load of people getting drunk, some getting laid and love blossoming. Vicky (Reid) too comes to the lake and Kevin is stuck in a position where he wants her but also does not want to look desperate and lose her. Nadia (Elizabeth), Jim's crush, is coming to meet him and hints that she wants to have a 'romantic' time with him. Jim, in all his desperation, is trying hard to prepare himself. Finch is awaiting his lady love, Stiffler's mom to arrive at the party and his taken up Tantra to increase his sex drive. Sadly, this movie does not come up with an innovative plot line and sticks to pretty much everyone trying to get lucky with their respective ladies. It is pretty objective-less and does not seem to drive to a point. There also is a missing element of humour that the first movie had which was badly needed in this installment. It is still a watchable and enjoyable movie but it has a lot of scope for improvement.

Based on the famous book by Roald Dahl with the same name, the story narrates the life of Mr. Fox (Clooney) who lives life by raiding nearby farms. When he learns of his wife's pregnancy, he decides to quit his hobby in favour of the family and their to-be child. Two years later (Twelve in fox years) Mr. Fox, Mrs. Fox (Streep) and their son Ash (Schwartzman) move to a new hole under a tree which is close to the fields of three farmers; Boggis (Hurlstone), Bunce (Guiness) and Bean (Gambon). When Ash's cousin Kristofferson (Anderson) comes over to stay over the weekend, Ash feels insecure when everyone praises him and his capabilities over Ash. With Mr. Fox feeding his family with his nightly jaunts, the farmers are tired of the thefts and decide they need to get rid of Mr.Fox once and for all. The movie is made in stop-motion animation technology which gives it a good childish look and feel. Roald Dahl wrote books for children and the movie too aims to target the same segment with the movie. However, in spite of the movie being made for a younger audience the movie can still be very entertaining to the mature mind too. It is a great wholesome entertainer that people of all ages would enjoy. This is what you call a well-rounded entertaining movie.

The movie that started it all. American Pie has been unofficially accredited with kick-starting the modern sex comedy rage which later saw a whole bunch of movie modelled on similiar lines. The movie narrates the story of a group of high school friends. Kevin (Nicholas), Chris Oz (Klien), Finch (Thomas), Jim (Biggs) and Stiffler (Scott) are all set to go to college but all of them, except Stiffler, are still virgins and they dont want to enter college like this. They make a pact that by prom, they would all manage to lose their virginity and become men. Kevin has a long time girlfriend Vicky (Reid) whom he is trying to seduce but she isnt quite up for it. Oz joins the choir hoping that some of the 'socially ignored' choir girls would take a liking for him. Jim tries his hand at the Czech exchange student, Nadia (Elizabeth). Finch tries to spread rumours about himself and his fake sexual encounters in a bid to generate some interest amongst the ladies. The movie is good fun to watch and is a hilarious comedy. Slapstick and sexual humour plagues the entire movie and makes for a complete wholesome entertainment. A nice one to watch with your buddies with some beer.

Marty McFly (Fox) is the average American kid who loves skate-boarding, chasing girls and getting late to school. His father keeps getting bullied by his supervisor, Biff (Wilson), his mother is an alcoholic and his elder siblings don't seem to have any aim in life. He has be-friended the local crazy scientist, Dr. Brown (Lloyd) whom the entire town considers to be mentally unstable. Dr. Brown has managed to create a time machine by modifying a DeLorean which needs a speed of 88 mph before it can travel through time and which also uses Plutonium. Dr. Brown had stolen the Plutonium from the Libyans and whilst showing Marty the functioning of the device, the Libyans attack Dr. Brown and Marty manages to escape back in time to the year 1955. Since he was out of Plutonium, Marty could not go back to the actual year and hence needed to find the younger Dr. Brown and take his help in going back to the future. 1955 was the year when Marty's father George (Glover) fell in love with his mother Lorraine (Thompson) but sadly, Lorraine takes a liking towards Marty himself. Marty realises that if he comes in the way of his parents, he might alter the future altogether to the point that he himself would seize to exist. The movie is a hardcore science-fiction movie that is a complete entertainment package. Although the story and developments might come across as being cliched, the movie has some very good twists and a gripping climax to make this movie a wonderful watch. Many sci-fi movies end up looking too cheesy because of bad execution of the 'futuristic technology' but this movie seems to pull it off with ease which looks believable even 27 years later. A brilliant movie and a must-watch.

The Griswald family decides to go on a road trip, or at least that is what Clark Griswald (Chase) wants to do. After convincing his wife Ellen (D'Angelo), son Rusty (Hall) and daughter Audrey (Barron) of the entire plan, the family decides to drive from Chicago to L.A. where they intend to go to the Wally World theme park. When Clark gets screwed on the deal when he goes for a new car, he doesn't know what all is in store for him for the rest of the trip. The journey is plagued with high's and low's from carry a dead grandmother on the top of the roof, dragging a dog tied to the car for a hundred miles and getting scammed by a mechanic in the middle of the desert. Watching the movie is like watching Road Trip with a typical '80s family feeling to it. Yes there is more than one funny moment but it is no American Pie, although there are some scenes that might qualify it to be. A fun entertainer that is worth a watch and is more or less guaranteed to make you laugh.

James Brennan (Eisenberg) wants to attend university but his parents broke the news to him that they cant afford to pay for his education and James needs to get a summer job if he wants to go to Columbia. The only job he manages to land himself in is at a theme park, Adventureland where he is appointed to work for 'games'. His childhood friend, Tommy Frigo (Bush) who too works at the park but in the more glamorous 'rides' division. James meets Emily aka Em (Stewart) who is a co-worker with at the games division and the two seem to get along well and eventually fall in love. James does not know that the mechanic, Mike (Reynolds) who in spite of being married, has regular sexual encounters with Em. Both Em and Mike keep this as a secret between themselves with no one being the smarter. Enter Lisa P. (Levieva) who is the hottest girl working at Adventureland who immediately starts to flirt with James. Not being able to resist Lisa's moves, James gives in and puts his and Em's relation on a roller-coaster ride. The movie suffers from being too slow and dragged with developments happening at their own pace. The movie is not too funny but isn't very high on emotions either. It tries to be something in between and hence not a very entertaining option. The movie does, however, have an interesting plot line which is different and not like the conventional romance. Hence, if unconventional romance is what you seek, this movie delivers but if it is humour or the chance to enjoy an emotional movie, then this movie doesn't.

Whenever Bollywood has tried to explore a new Hollywood concept, most of the times the movie has fallen flat on its face. Be it superheroes, science-fiction, creepy aliens or, in this case, zombies, they never seemed to have seriously worked. Luv (Das), Hardik (Khemu) and Bunny (Tiwari) are three flatmates where Luv and Hardik only want to enjoy life and who also get high on anything they can lay their hands on. When Bunny has to go for an office assignment to Goa, Luv and Hardik decide to hitch-hike along with him. Luna (Gupta) is a random girl who becomes Luv's love interest for the rest of the movie. When Luna invites Luv to an underground rave party organised by the Russians, the three friends decide to go there to have the ultimate time of their lives. Boris (Khan) is ex-Russian mafia who is also the party organiser. The party is for the launch of a new drug which is more lethal than anything you might have come across. What he doesn't know is that the drug has a massive side effect which turns the person into a zombie. Daybreak and the three friends cant seem to find their boat or know where they are. What they do realise is that the island is teeming with zombies, all thirsty for their blood. After rescuing Luna and meeting Boris, the team decides to stick together to get out of this island for good. The movie seems to be heavily inspired from Shaun of the Dead, which is not very surprising considering that most 'innovative' Bollywood movies seem to have roots from outside the industry. The good part is that whenever you come across the Bollywood-ish moments when you think that the movie has screwed things up, the movie happily admits to its own doing. Like Saif playing a Russian with a fake accent to begin with and some parts lifted from other movies. The humour is good and very different from the sexual slapstick that you end up seeing in movies these days. A movie worth the watch, that is if you don't mind the occasional intestine ripping, blood spitting, hand-broken zombie.

A friend in need, is a friend in deed. Or is it? When Carl (Dillon) is getting married to Molly (Hudson), he makes his best friend Dupree (Wison) as his best man. What comes after that is something that even Carl never imagined. Dupree is jobless, homeless, car less and penniless and taking pity on his unfortunate plight, he decides to let Dupree stay back for a few days much to the ire of Molly. Dupree's stupidity and antics doesn't win him too much love from the newly weds and Carl and Molly repeatedly feel they did the biggest mistake. Molly is the daughter of Bob Thompson (Douglas) who is the owner of the company where Carl works. Carl repeatedly feels the Bob is trying to put him down and is not very happy with their marriage. Bob suggests Carl drops his last name in favour of Molly's, makes his life at work difficult, does not show any concern or love to his new son-in-low and also proposed that he should undergo a vasectomy. The movie has some light humour and can be called 'funny' to an extent. It is a very typical romance-comedy movie and has more or less all the elements that one would expect. It is not outright funny or heavy on the romance bit and balances the two very well.

So what is the most absurd thing for which you can get possibly arrested? Bill Gambini (Macchio) and Stan (Whitfield) are two friends who are on a road trip and stop by at a convenience store in Alabama. Bill forgets to pay for a can of tuna and drives off, only to realise later. Stan starts getting extremely worried and fears arrest and prosecution which Bill does not agree with. Much to both their surprise, they do get pulled over and are shocked to find that it is not just tuna but murder. The store keeper was shot soon after they left the store and the two are prime suspects in the case. Being in Alabama and fearing the harshest of judgements, Bill calls his cousin, who is a New York lawyer, to represent them. Vinny (Pesci) has failed his bar exam 6 times, never been to court, been practicing for 6 months, deals only in personal injury cases and seems to know nothing about the law. His girlfriend, Mona Lisa Vito (Tomei) has accompanied him on the trip and seems to know more than Vinny on what should be done at court. With the prosecution throwing evidence after evidence and Vinny not being able to do anything, the chances of acquittal for Stan and Bill seem to be bleak. Although the movie has a very stereotyped story, it is funny and different. It is not the slap stick stupidity of Jim Carrey but is the more sensible and laughable humour. Although the humour is not in abundance, it is still enough to make you laugh hard. Pesci and Tomei have put on a good performance and special credit needs to go to Tomei, especially for her accent.

When two emotionally broken women want to run away from their current lives, the find respite in each other and in the other persons life. Amanda Woods (Diaz) is a movie marketer based in L.A whose boyfriend is caught cheating on her with his secretary. Fed up of her life and her routine, she wants to run away to someplace quiet and serene. Iris Simpkins (Winslet) is a journalist based in London who is deeply in love with her colleague Jasper Bloom (Sewell). Jasper too keeps expressing his love for her, but at the same time gets engaged to someone else, leaving Iris heartbroken. When Amanda contacts Iris to swap houses and lives for 2 weeks, the two women never realise what is in store for them. Amanda falls in love with Iris' brother, Graham (Law) in spite of trying very hard not to. Iris falls in love with Amanda's friend, Miles (Black) and befriends her neighbour, a movie veteran, Arthur Abbott (Wallach). There is a feel-good feeling to this movie and you would be quite happy once it is done. The good thing about the movie is it projects the two lives as actually being two separate lives and not something where a particular situation occurs at both ends. Taking an example, Iris' love comes to meet her but that is not the case for Amanda. Iris befriends a neighbour but Amanda doesn't. The individuals have their identity of their own and are only stringed together by emotions. A good movie worth at least one watch.

Jim Carrey and his ridiculously stupid antics are always sure to make you laugh. One can never go wrong with any of his movies. Fletcher Reede (Carrey) is a high-profile lawyer and is a divorced man. His son, Max (Cooper) is very fond of his father just as Fletcher is fond of him. Fletcher is too tied up with work and with other priorities to give enough time to his son. Time and again he has made promises that he was never able to fulfill. When Fletcher fails to turn up for Max's birthday, Max makes a birthday wish that his father could never be able to lie just for one day. Fletcher has got a new high-profile client in a divorce case and realises that he needs to lie to win the case. With the case on his head and the wish coming true, Fletcher realises that he is in for a very bad day. Slap-stick stupidity can only be carried off by Jim Carrey in a hilarious manner. He is the love it or hate it kinds and there is no third way about him. The extra-zealous acting and the over-enthusiastic performances are all part of the larger package. The movie is just something to watch, laugh and then forget about it.

Musicals are annoying, very annoying, at least for me. And when you have a song every 5 minutes it can get very annoying. Sophie (Seyfried) is getting married. Sophie lives with her mother, Donna (Streep) off a Greek island. Sophie does not know who her father is since Donna slept with 3 men around the same time. In order to find out, Sophie discreetly invites Harry (Firth), Sam (Brosnan) and Bill (Skarsgard), her 3 possible fathers to her wedding without informing Donna. When they do turn up, Donna is reeling under a shock and Sophie is trying to determine who her father is. Harry, Sam and Bill don't know that one of them could be the father of Sophie and everything turns out to be one big mess. The movie is entertaining and there is no doubt about that. The endless songs are extremely annoying and can give you enough reason to not watch the movie anymore. For someone who hates songs in movies, this one is the ultimate torture. If songs are your thing, coupled with ideal summer destinations and a sprinkling of romance, then this movie kills it in every way.

The usual rags to riches story of young lawyer. Jagdish Tyagi aka Jolly (Warsi) is a small-time lawyer who has decided to leave his town of Meerut and try to make it big in Delhi. However, life in Delhi is not much better for him and he is still looking for that big break that would take him ahead in his career. Rahul Dewan, a youth belonging to an extremely rich family, accidentally runs over some homeless people when he is driving under the influence of alcohol in the dead of the night. Rahul's father has asked Advocate Rajpal (Irani) to defend his son and ensure victory. Rajpal decides to manipulate witnesses and destroy evidence so that his client may win. Jolly, suspects foul play and files a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against Dewan and Rajpal and challenges the verdict to allow Rahul Dewan to walk scot-free. The movie is a low budget entertainer and does not try to be anything else. Everyone is very aware of the outcome of the movie and how exactly it would roll out, but yet it manages to entertain on a lot of fronts. Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani make a fabulous pair who keep you laughing and entertained till quite some time. Worth that one watch but not beyond it.

An agent from the Chinese Intelligence has been loaned to the CIA for a secret operation. Bob Ho (Chan) is in pursuit of a Russian criminal, Anton Poldark (Scheving) who is trying to get his hands on a top secret chemical that destroys oil. Bob has taken a liking for his next door neighbor, Gillian (Valletta) but her 3 kids hate him. Gillian refuses to marry him unless her children accept him, which they don't seem to be working towards. When Gillian needs to leave town for a family emergency, Bob takes over her house in an attempt to make the kids like him. However, babysitting is not as easy and simple as Bob expected it to be and he has his work cut out. One expects Chan to deliver to a certain extent when he is starring in a movie. The mix of action and comedy is what makes his movies entertaining. This movie did have a decent amount of Jackie Chan action, but was missing the comedy. The movie is a big drag and comes across as the usual family drama where there is a happy ending for everyone.

During the end of the 19th century, large American corporations wanted a share of undeveloped Mexico. One such American land lord, Tyler Jackson (Yoakam) had his eyes on the Mexican countryside and wanted to forge a deal for their development. Maria Alvarez (Cruz) the daughter of a small-time farmer, witnessed her fathers murder by Jackson and his men. Sara Sandoval (Hayek) the daughter of a Mexican landlord and a well-educated girl from Europe, saw her father being murdered by Jackson in order to take over all his land deals. Both the girls decide to unite and rob all the banks that are held by Jackson and use that money to help the people of Mexico. The movies story line has defined the movies entertainment value; nothing. The movie in itself is quite rubbish and comes across as the casual entertainer. By showing two Latina beauties doing action scenes with deep cleavages, the movie tries to gain audience attention but fails miserably. A very average watch.

So how many movies have you seen where a girl becomes a guy and a guy becomes a girl? Many, right? Well this movie is no different and is just like the rest. Jessica (McAdams) is a an arrogant teenager who loves hanging out with her girlfriends. One day she steals a pair of voodoo earrings from a store which in turn out to have super powers. The earrings, if worn by 2 different people, would ensure that their bodies get exchanged but the soul remains the same. Jessica's body gets exchanged with a low-life criminal (Schneider) who manages to find one of the missing earrings. Jessica now needs to live in a mans body and needs to convince her friends of her story and take their help in finding her true body back. The movie is a load of utter trash and is not even remotely funny. The only funny bit is watching Schneider in being a girl, not cause its funny but because he makes a fool of himself.

Every married man goes through a mid-life crisis at least once. The moment they start ogling at other women, when their wife is not pretty anymore and when their life is a complete bore. Richard Cooper (Rock) is the man in question at the moment. His wife Brenda (Torres) is not interested in making love to him anymore and he is getting increasingly frustrated. He does not want to cheat on her by going to someone else and wishes something would happen that would improve his life. Nikki Tru (Washington) walks into his life one day. Nikki is Richard's best friends ex-girlfriend who decided to pay Richard a visit for old times' sake. Richard gets drawn into Nikki with her curvaceous body and seductive looks and the two quickly become good friends. It's only when things go a bit too far and Richard's personal as well as professional life start getting compromised, things start looking bad, very bad. The movie is a very typical black comedy movie with the usual mix of comedy and romance. There is absolutely nothing special about it and the only saving grace is Chris Rock. At least his presence gives you a reason to watch the entire movie, otherwise it is a whole load of trash.

Based on true incidents, a group of 4 con artists conduct false raids against corrupt politicians and wealthy businessmen, posing as CBI sleuths or Income Tax officers. Since the money is illegal and unaccounted for, these politicians and businessmen do not want to file a police case, fearing negative publicity and people learning about their deeds. The group is led by Ajay Singh (Kumar) along with P.K. Sharma (Kher) and their 2 assistants, Joginder (Sharma) and Iqbal (Kadam). The real CBI gets wind of their false raids and CBI officer Wasim Khan (Bajpayee) is put on the job of hunting them down. Along with the help of Delhi Police Officer Ranveer Singh (Shergill), Khan starts following their every footstep and plans to nab them when they are all set to do one last mega-heist before ultimately retiring. Coming from the makers of A Wednesday the movie promised a lot and delivered pretty much to the expected demands. The only grouse that one can come up with, would be the forced romance plot and the unwanted songs. These two aspects break the otherwise good flow of the movie and can seem annoying. Akshay Kumar has finally delivered a decent movie after a very long time and Anupam Kher was his usual best. The duo get along well and can occasionally deliver the sarcastic humour which is enough to make you smirk. A must watch, at least once.

A lot of movies have been made with people having various diseases, problems and disorders and this movie does not chose to be very different. Based on a true life story, Adam Lerner (Gordon-Levitt) has a tumour in his spine which has turned cancerous. He has a 50% chance of survival and this sudden news seems to have hit him very hard. Most of the movie focuses on the ups and downs with Adam and him trying to cope with the cancer. From a mother who feels left out, a girlfriend who is two-timing him, a friend who is using him as a bait to get women and a psychiatrist who has no previous experience, Adam's life does not become any easy but it only gets harder. The movie does not throw up anything exceptional in terms of Adam trying to deal with his illness and is very normal and predictable. The movie might be worth that one watch, but then again it might not be. Leaving the story out, the movie is perfect in all other aspects but its simply the uneventful plot line that becomes a bit of a damper.

Vishal Bharadwaj has a distinct style of his own that makes his movies different from the rest of the lot. Usually set in rural India, unique story lines, sarcastic humour and rowdy abuses; that is what Bharadwaj is all about. Mr. Harry Mandola (Kapoor) is an extremely rich land lord living in the village of Mandola in Harayana, India. His dreams of setting up an automobile factory near the village, is not as simple as he thought when the villagers refuse in transferring their lands to him. However, Mr. Mandola actually has a bigger problem then simply acquiring land, and that is his alcohol problem. 4 pegs of his favourite drink is all that he needs to become a completely different person, so much so, he even led a protest outside his own house against himself. To counter this problem, he hires Hukkum Sigh Matru (Khan) a well-educated driver and servant who is in charge of preventing him from getting too drunk.Chaudhari Devi (Azmi) is the local politician who has vested interests in the land deal and Mandola and his wealth. She strategically wants her son, Badal (Babbar) to marry Mandola's daughter Bijlee (Sharma) so that she may inherit all of Mandola's wealth when he eventually passes away. Pankaj Kapur puts on a fabulous performance of a drunk Mandola, of a stern Mandola and of a frightened Mandola with so much of ease and simplicity. The movie has got good performances but the songs get a bit too much after a point. The movie too is not up to the expectations that you would have of Bharadwaj but nonetheless, the movie is definitely worth it to hear Pankaj Kapur's drunk antics and the regular 'Bhencho-Bhencho'.
